TPMS Tools

A proper TPMS scan tool is a must have for the tire retailer today. Simply put, you cannot service TPMS without one. Auto dealers have proprietary scan tools to service their own vehicle makes and models. The tire retailer must have the capability to service ALL makes and models as a normal course of business.

TPMS MANAGER does not recommend a tool, but rather informs you which tool would work on a specific vehicle / sensor combination. For example, many Asian vehicles require that the TPMS sensor ID’s are communicated directly into the vehicle control unit. This is done through the On Board Diagnostics (OBD) port. A TPMS scan tool with OBD capabilities gives the tire retailer much greater coverage of TPMS equipped vehicles, but without one your shop would not be able to service these vehicles. TPMS MANAGER recognizes these requirements, and gives you an alert when your tool of choice might not be compatible.

Scan tools for TPMS also perform other important functions. Many display tire pressure, temperature and battery state. Some scan tools have the ability to program sensors, allowing the shop to create sensors on an as-needed basis.
